Dr. Alton A. Williams, President and Dr. Daniel E. Hanks III, Vice President, are the founding leadership for the Community Empowerment Project, Inc. As the Program Manager for the City Neighborhood Clean Team Project, I began working with the Community Empowerment Project (a/k/a CEP), a community-based agency, in 2019 and again in 2020. Team Project is a component of Mayor Mike Purzycki’s comprehensive Beautiful City Initiative.
The City Neighborhood Clean Team Project mission is focused on the healthy maintenance of six (6) city neighborhoods. Moreover, the CEP is the managing agency for the Eastside and the Washington Heights/9th Ward neighborhood.
The CEP agency is a very good administrative community-based agency, and they also are operationally effective and efficient. Administratively, they are always timely in submitting their paperwork to the Project’s Program Manager. Operationally, I monitor, daily, the CEP’s two (2) Clean Teams, the Eastside and the Washington Heights/9th Ward area. Their work product output always meets the City Neighborhood Clean Team Project’s daily quantitative and greater than the daily quantitative goal set by the City of Wilmington.
Additionally, as the Vice President of the Washington Heights Neighborhood Association, most of the neighbors in the area are very pleased in the workmanship of the CEP’s work crew.
